North Kansas City Hospital sponsors events and offers classes and health screenings throughout the year.  Below you'll see some of the events we're participating in. You can also check out other local community events, news, resources, and volunteer opportunities at American Cancer Society.

Back In The Swing
The Hospital sold Back in the Swing cards again this year. The cards cost $25 and are good at participating retailers for discounts up to 20% from Oct. 12-18 2009. Proceeds from the cards go back to area hospitals for breast cancer research and survivor programs.
For two consecutive years, North Kansas City Hospital staff earned top honors as the first-place fundraising team for Back in the Swing, a Kansas City-based program that provides funds for area breast cancer survivor programs. Hospital staff donated more than $2,510 to Back in the Swing and raised more funds than any Kansas City area hospital.

Relay for Life
Relay for Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.  North Kansas City Hospital has a team at the Relay for Life of the Northland on July 16th from 7pm until 7am at the Oak Park High School.

By taking part in Relay for Life, we have a chance to join 3.5 million people from across the country to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that takes too much.
